Donating to SECA
SECA relies mainly on sales in our Thrift Store and donations from the community to continue our ongoing services to local residents.
We very much appreciate the following types of donations:
- Non-perishable food items
- New or gently used clothing or other household items
- Monetary donations
These are some of the food / personal items that are most frequently needed / used:
- Applesauce
- Cereal
- Fruit Cups
- Ketchup
- Mac-n-cheese
- Paper towels
- Peanut butter
- Ramen noodles
- Saltine crackers
- Spaghetti / Spaghetti Os
- Toilet paper
- Canned meat
- Canned vegetables
- Jelly
- Laundry detergent
- Oatmeal
- Pancake mixes
- Powdered mashed potatoes
- Rice
- Soup (canned)
- Spaghetti sauce
Here is a partial list of most needed non-food items:
- Personal care items such as deodorant or shampoo (unopened)
- New socks
- New or slightly used clothing, coats or jackets, shoes
- Flatware and kitchen utensils
- Small appliances in good condition
- Small electronics (radios, audio players, lamps, etc.)
- Washers, dryers (please call first)
- We can accept certain furniture items if space is available – please be sure to call us first.
We regret we cannot accept the following:
- Food needing refrigeration
- Expired food
- Leftovers or baked goods (these are not sealed at an inspected facility)
- Any food with open or damaged packaging
We are also unable to accept these household items:
- Mattresses
- Box springs
- CRT monitors
- Infant car seats
Cash donations are always welcome and appreciated. SECA maintains a relationship with the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank that allows us to supplement donations by purchasing food at a very significant discount. Cash donations help us to maximize our ability to serve the community through these purchases.
We can generally accept donations any hours we are open. We regret we do not have vehicles or transportation equipment for pick- ups or deliveries.
Thank you for thinking of SECA!
